There was a kitty named Sweetpea who changed everything for me.
He was small and fierce and deeply loved by his family. When the time came for his gentle transition, I wanted to give him something more than a clinical goodbye in an unfamiliar place. I wanted his last moments to be as warm and peaceful as the sunny spots he loved to sleep in -- surrounded by the people who treasured him, in the home where he felt safest.
That experience became the seed of Soulcat. Dr. Dillon and I each carry more than 25 years of veterinary care in our hearts, but it was Sweetpea who taught us that the farewell matters as much as the life that came before it.
